Avoca WARP Nine Weaves of Wicklow Wide Merino Scarf, Navy draws inspiration from Wicklow’s
shifting light and richly textured landscapes, blending heritage craftsmanship with contemporary
design. Featuring elegant cream and navy blocks reminiscent of sunlit stone cottages, this wide
scarf showcases nine intricate weave structures that create exceptional depth, texture, and
movement. Woven from luxuriously soft extra fine merino wool, it offers warmth, comfort, and
versatile styling while celebrating Avoca’s renowned weaving tradition. New for the Avoca AW26/27
season, Part of the Warp Collection from Avoca, and Made at the historic Avoca Mill in Avoca,
County Wicklow, Ireland, it is a timeless accessory with a distinctive modern character.
The Warp collection honors Ireland's rich textile history. It celebrates the historic Avoca
Handweavers wool mill, which has been operating since 1723. The collection uses high-quality merino
wool to create scarves that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern, bright designs. In
weaving, the warp threads are held stationary and taut on a loom. These vertical threads run up and
down to form the strong base of the fabric. The weft threads are then woven across them, moving
side to side. This simple over-and-under interlacing creates all woven textiles.
