Bring colour and craftsmanship together with the Avoca WARP Vertically Fringed Merino Scarf,
Multicolour Stripe. Bright fringe and vivid stripes create a striking contrast, with neon pink and
orange illuminating rich navy and cream tones. Woven in a beautifully defined reversible
herringbone using luxuriously soft merino wool, this expressive scarf is inspired by the weaving
floor, where fabric once hung on tenterhooks, and reimagined as a bold, wearable accessory for
chilly days and vibrant moods. New for the Avoca AW26/27 season, Part of the WARP Collection from
Avoca, and Made at the historic Avoca Mill in Avoca, County Wicklow, Ireland, it combines timeless
Irish weaving heritage with contemporary design.
The Warp collection honors Ireland's rich textile history. It celebrates the historic Avoca
Handweavers wool mill, which has been operating since 1723. The collection uses high-quality merino
wool to create scarves that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern, bright designs. In
weaving, the warp threads are held stationary and taut on a loom. These vertical threads run up and
down to form the strong base of the fabric. The weft threads are then woven across them, moving
side to side. This simple over-and-under interlacing creates all woven textiles.
