Antique silver finished pewter kilt pin in the form of a West Highland Battle Sword. A real statement piece for your kilt.

The Islanders favoured a smaller sword, but one that was more nimble than the great Claymore. The leading clansmen of Isles favoured a lighter and more practical weapon, which was ideal for their lifestyle of seafaring and coastal raiding. Like the Claymore, the West Highland swords were characterised by their forward sloping arms. Many examples survive, but were often can be seen on grave slabs throughout the west of Scotland, which show them with their owners.

The kilt pin is worn on the front of a kilt to prevent it lifting, although this can also be worn as a large statement brooch in its own right.
